This woman deserves an Oscar for how petty she is. Not only has she found a way to make her husband regret separating from her, but also she's profiting off of the whole thing as well. She shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit.
Here's how she made it happen (and if you're in a position to do this to your future ex, be sure to take notes). Her husband is self-employed and wants to stay on his ex-wife's insurance plan, which costs her nothing at all so it doesn't really affect her either way. However, in order to tease out his desperation, she said that she'd allow him to stay on her insurance plan provided that he pay her $400 a month. That money is being used for her own enjoyment, including her upcoming vacation in Spain. Iconic!
Now, the facts are that even if they are separated, the husband can stay on his wife's insurance plan so long as they aren't officially divorced. This means that basically that monthly $400 payment is what is actively keeping OP from filing for divorce and kicking him off her plan.
We all know that divorce tends to bring out the worst in people, but here we have someone who seems to be fully self-actualizing through all of this. Sure, I wouldn't want her to be my wife or ex-wife, but from afar, I have to marvel at her audacity. And if I ever have the upper hand like she does here, I will definitely use this story as a blueprint for my course of action.
